Sahid (The Martyr)

Said he, "I'm dead, O' mother" and lived as a martyr

Onward he marched, he daunted not the bullets
For freedom's cause he never till tomorrow waited
The cause of country higher, higher more than life
Said he, "I'm dead, O' mother" and lived as a martyr

The road with obstacles wrought, he nevr did complai
He never ever questioned the worth of mother Earth
Picking all the prcikly thorns that pricked his nation dear
Said he, "I'm dead, O' mother" and lived as a martyr

On hearing just his name, the head droops in respect
On hearing just his name the heart with vigor swells
he gave us the freedom and the country to protect
Said he, "I'm dead, O' mother" and lived as a martyr
